Yesterday marked my official start to 100 mile training.
It went off without a hitch thankfully. I am so excited to get training really going and dive deep into the world of ultras again. I really miss the long runs. 🙂
The day started with an easy 4 mile run with my son Dare and both dogs (Trigger and Roxy). Trigger is my running buddy! He kills it and has really great trail etiquette.
Roxy on the other hand is a little heavier so she doesn’t do many longer runs. This 4 miler was her longest to date and she did great. She must have gotten a little too warm as she decided at 1.8 miles to jump into the river we ran past for a swim. Just a reminder, we live in northern Indiana, it was 30 out. haha! (she was only in the water for about 45 seconds and I had a towel in the vehicle to dry her off)
Next up was some weights and a few things from a challenge group I am in. So I did a chest workout, some core and made sure to stay on top of my nutrition.
Speaking of nutrition…those holidays got me alllllll messed up. So now its time to buckle back down and get with it! I also need to get back to stretching, I am not doing so good at that.
